It is also the least understood and most under-utilized weapon system. Learn how to teach students to properly select\, modify\, feed and operate the defensive shotgun for optimum effectiveness. This intensive course will teach you efficient techniques for handling and shooting the shotgun under stressful conditions. Topics covered include: \nFirearms safety\, including considerations specific to shotguns \nSelection of the fighting shotgun \nModifications and Accessories \nAmmunition selection and capabilities \nPatterning for optimum performance \nNomenclature and mechanical operation \nShooting technique \nLoading/reloading techniques \nSafe storage and ready conditions\, including cruiser/closet ready \nCare and maintenance \nAdult teaching methods \nEffective coaching \nTraining aids \nInstructor candidates will receive an extensive training manual. \nStudents will need 300 rounds of birdshot\, 100 rounds of buckshot\, and 40 slugs. We will have some properly set up loaner shotguns available. \nTo graduate from this course\, student instructors will have to pass a shooting qualification and a written test on the material covered in class. \nYour instructors will be Tim Chandler and Ashton Ray. Both are highly trained and hold multiple instructor certifications. They have been teaching a shotgun block at the national Tactical Conference for several years. DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to be working with Tim Chandler and FPF training again in 2019! \nShotgun Skills builds upon the fundamentals taught in Home Defense Shotgun. The basics will be reinforced\, but students will be pushed to improve speed and accuracy with the shotgun on single targets\, challenging multiple target arrays\, and in competitive timed shooting. Shotgun Skills will also cover the application and use of slugs\, use of the shotgun in close quarters\, and the basics of approaching corners with a long gun. DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to be working with Tim Chandler and FPF training again in 2019! \n  \nShotgun Skills builds upon the fundamentals taught in Home Defense Shotgun. The basics will be reinforced\, but students will be pushed to improve speed and accuracy with the shotgun on single targets\, challenging multiple target arrays\, and in competitive timed shooting. Shotgun Skills will also cover the application and use of slugs\, use of the shotgun in close quarters\, and the basics of approaching corners with a long gun.
